Adrienne C. Compton studied a BSc (Hons) in Agricultural Science at the University of Nottingham and following her degree worked in agribusinesses for 15 years. She spent 10 years researching potential production regions all over the world. Following a Graduate Diploma in 2012, she completed her MA in 2014\. Part of her MA dissertation, reassessing the Tadlow Field System, identified by Oliver Rackham in The History of the Countryside was published in Proceedings of the Cambridge Antiquarian Society in 2018\. Her PhD was completed in 2023.
